The Scandinavian tour is going great. We are doing 17 nights in a row, in pretty much a different city every day, so it is physically and mentally tough. But each night, a crowd of music lovers show up, and I am rejuvenated and by the end of the show, pretty exhilarated. Then I wake up to get ready to drive to the next city and I am bleary eyed and stiff and wonder “What the hell am I doing with my life?”
And by the end of the night, I am rejuvenated and exhilarated all over again. That’s the pattern.

Luckily, I got some sleep last night. First night in 3 or 4 days with more than 4 or 5 hours’ sleep. So I am a new man. Headed from Goteborg to Halmstad. Then Falkenburg, then Skebo…then home.

Three weeks is longer than it used to be on tour. But the shows have all been great, all been unique in their own way, and we have met so many cool people who love music. And the Rootsy label is just the coolest record label in the world. They take care of you and make sure that the shows are right for you, and right for the audience too.

i posted a new lick of the day. it’s on facebook. i was working on embedding it on this site, but i don’t have all the proper info to do it from here (4 am in sweden—jet lag sleep patterns are murder), so maybe i can get it embedded all proper soon. i am in charge of everything now, so trying to drive the van, ride the plane, do the shows, write the songs, record the songs…all of it…well let’s just say it’s all-consuming. i love my work, but i suppose now doing everything means something is going to fall short, to get overlooked. so apologies in advance for that. the good news is i’m still out here and playing great shows if i do say so myself. i’m in sweden and norway for three weeks. i left kicking and screaming because i did not want to be away for three weeks. but it is what it is. the shows will be great. in my spare time i will try to become a computer maven and figure out all the pass words and user names that i don’t seem to have gotten in the changeover from what once was to what now is. the work this year has been out on the road, so i have gone all over creation to do the work. and there have been some wonderful moments, some wonderful shows, some great new songs being written. a lot of recording being done. hopes for the future are high. and i have never been busier. and jet lag will make you go crazy, being tired as hell and not being able to sleep but having to get yourself all over a foreign country nonetheless. at least the coffee is strong here. and i have some wonderful friends here—bjorn and hakan in particular…see you somewhere…
